George Harrison was the “Quiet One” of the Beatles and may have been Tim’s favorite as a kid. But the dirty secret is George was an extremely mediocre guitar player: the solo on Taxman (and quite a few other Beatles songs) was played by Paul McCartney because George couldn’t nail it in the studio. George became a good songwriter and introduced pop music to instruments like the sitar. But as a guitar player, George Harrison is massively overrated.
